Green Intiative
Big Dog’s Green Initiative is based off of the LEED framework provided by the US Green Building Council. Developing an efficiently planned home which takes less energy to operate is one of the principals of our thought process. Through continued education and integrating new technologies, Big Dog Construction looks to remain one the Quad Cities premier builders.
Big Dog Construction Homes feature:
- 2×6 walls this added thickness enables us to achieve an r-22 rating with blown in fiberglass insulation. Thicker walls also create a quieter home.
- Attics have blown-in insulation to achieve an r-50 rating
- Unfinished basement walls are draped with a metal building r-10 insulation
- Utilizing energy efficient lighting packages
- Improving the indoor air environment with High Efficient Heating and Cooling systems, featuring sealed ductwork.
- High Efficient natural gas water heaters
- Garage walls are insulated and drywall finished
